Control, Optimise, and Explore with Triple Alpha

Beyond higher-level programming tools, Triple Alpha gives developers access to advanced capabilities supported by Horizon Quantum’s underlying execution infrastructure.

Powerful capabilities in a single development environment

Advanced capabilities expand Triple Alpha’s reach. They enable developers to experiment with low-level hardware control, resource optimisation, and alternative computational models that extend the limits of today’s quantum devices—all within a single development environment.

Identify improvements across circuit fragments

Triple Alpha’s optimisation engine improves the efficiency of code according to user-specified metrics. It automatically identifies simplifications within circuit fragments constructed from any instruction set, including group-theoretic reductions like Euler decompositions and composition of non-unitary effects such as dephasing and decoherence.

Measurement-based quantum computation

Unlike the circuit model, where quantum gates are applied sequentially, MBQC performs computation through measurements on entangled quantum states—an approach well-suited to photonic hardware and privacy-preserving protocols such as blind quantum computing. Triple Alpha’s MBQC compilation capability converts gate-based quantum programs into this measurement-driven form.

Maximise quantum resource efficiency through reusability

The equivalent of classical malloc() and free() functions, this capability allows programmers to dynamically allocate and release qubits within their quantum programs. Qubits no longer in use can be repurposed, dramatically reducing the total quantum memory required for complex computations and unlocking increased resource efficiency.

Transform gate-based programs to measurement-based quantum computation

Triple Alpha gives developers direct, low-level control over the pulses sent to a quantum processor, enabling custom operations that bypass native gate sets. By shaping pulses to match device-specific behaviour, users can reduce errors, improve fidelity, and finely tune hardware performance across different quantum systems.
